Northern Love

This series of 13 digital artworks explores love's evolution, from infatuation to heartbreak to forgiveness, through two characters set against Ethiopia's northern highlands. Merging Ethiopian Orthodox iconography with modern symmetric aesthetics, the work honors cultural heritage while reimagining ancient art forms for contemporary audiences. Beyond a love story, the series reflects on Ethiopian identity during times of civil unrest and division, using traditional elements to celebrate the nation's resilience, diversity, and shared aspirations. The project demonstrates art's power to transcend boundaries, foster unity, and inspire healing through cultural conversation.
