Having faith never made sense to me. There's usually someone preaching, "Have faith in the Lord," or "Trust in the process." Whether in a divine or mundane way, it's always felt out of reach. How can anyone close their eyes and walk along a tightrope with only a voice to follow? (Voice of God, or conscious)
I don't have the answers to that, and I still don't fully understand what it really means. Perhaps it's something not meant to be understood. Just as it's necessary to learn and grow, it's also essential to unlearn things beyond our grasp to achieve true peace of mind.
However, I have understood that having faith means believing that everything will unfold for the best in our circumstances. It doesn't mean it will be favorable or pleasant-in fact, it's usually the opposite. You'll be condemned for following your gut, and you'll have to question the choices you made. Faith is turbulent for the mind but straightforward for the heart. It's a thousand aches that slash you with every doubt you carry.
Don't lose your way in doubt, for it will drag you into a mortal world where primal needs roar. Close your eyes, reach out your hand, and let it feel the warmth of hope.
