Rest...something we barely do asleep. Laying on the thick grass underneath an acacia tree, birds chirping everywhere, a few of them landing and pecking bugs beside me. The breeze was so fresh, that I'd be a madman to take this Rift Valley breeze for granted.
Time passes as I get hypnotized by the gentle passing clouds above me, ignoring the small ants ticking all over me.
"I am nature" my body and soul echo,
"I am a lake" my lazy eyes look at the wide brown waters. I was ready to fall into the hands of all this peace, ready to drift away into a deep slumber, Ready to leave the man-made mattress behind, ready to finally rest, And I did so.
It was as if I was dead. No dream clouded my mind. Anxieties of day-to-day life had faded away. It was a dark cinema screen, no show to display, just the void. Nothing was happening...it was silent. My body all repaired up and everything in check, I finally got a taste of resting of mind-body-soul. As I woke up, those same forces of nature kept on being in tune with life. Also gave me the strength to face the world again.
